50-dB Nonlinear Crosstalk Suppression in a WDM Analog Fiber System by Complementary Modulation and Balanced Detection

Abstract

A technique for reducing crosstalk in analog WDM systems is described. This technique combines the modulated twin carriers technique with balanced detection. To facilitate measurements, relatively high crosstalk levels are produced by launching high powers into the fibers. A reduction of up to 50-dB and low residual crosstalk over the entire RF range is demonstrated at low frequencies.link_to_subscribed_fulltex
