Abstract
The Mg26(, He8)Mg22 reaction was reinvestigated at a bombarding energy of 110.6 MeV with a magnetic spectrometer-multiwire proportional counter detection system, leading to an improved value for the mass excess of He8 of 31.570.03 MeV.
