Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, Vanderbilt UniversityThe Br2 laser transition near 2900 {\AA} has been re-examined using a single isotope of bromine. The vibrational analysis contradicts previous assignments, according to which the lower state was designated B(O+u3π). The new analysis indicates this transition is very likely 1432, 2g3Π→2431,2u3Π, the same as the preferred designation for the I2 3400 {\AA} laser transition. The prominent bands in the laser spectrum (2913-2926 {\AA}) are 0-10, 2-13, 1-12, 0-11, and 2-14
