ResumoEste estudo teve como objetivo descrever e analisar sociologicamente os desenhos infantis feitos a partir dos desastres causados pelo furacão Katrina (nos EUA, em 2005) e pelo tsunami na Ásia (em 2004). Uma comparação é feita, tomando como base o recorte etário e a dimensão de gênero, com os elementos representados no desenho a fim identificar a existência de afinidades e/ou diferenças nas maneiras das crianças expressarem sua compreensão desses eventos. Os resultados mostram que, na dimensão etária, há quantidades comuns de elementos retratados, mas a natureza dos elementos registrados é diferente entre meninos e meninas. Palavras-chave: Desenhos infantis; Representações sociais; Desastres AbstractThis study aims at depicting and analyzing sociologically infant drawings made upon the theme of disasters caused by the hurricane Katrina (USA, 2005) and by the Tsunami in Asia (in 2004). A comparison is made, by the age and sex, with the elements represented in the drawing in order to identify the existence of affinities or differences in the ways of expressing their understanding of the events. The results show that, as to the age, there are common amounts of portrayed elements, but their very nature is differentiated between boys and girls.
