T his paper addresses diferent images of the woman's body. More specifically, it refers tothe corporal and sportive practices, as well as to the visibility of the feminine body in the30s and 40s of this century. It discloses some political, economical and culturalmodifications in the Brazilian society at that period, which had the consequence ofpermissibility of the exhibition the feminine body, while, at the same time, promotedstrategies for its concealment. The paper refers to three specifics topics: beauty,motherhood and feminility. This research aims at showing the images of women thatwere portrayed in the first magazine about Physical Education - Revista EducaçãoPhysica - published between 1932-1945.Este texto trata de diferentes imagens do corpo da mulher. Mais particularmente,das práticas corporais e esportivas e a da visibilidade do corpo feminino no iníciodeste século. Discute algumas modificações políticas, econômicas e culturais da sociedadebrasileira da atualidade, cujas conseqüências, ao mesmo tempo que possibilitam aexibição do corpo feminino, promovem também estratégias para seu ocultamento. Refere-se a três temas específicos: beleza, maternidade e feminilidade. A pesquisa a que serefere este testo busca mostrar imagens da mulher presentes no primeiro periódico específicoda Educação Física - a Revista Educação Physica - publicada entre 1932 e 1945
