She began to study piano at the age of four. In 1991, Ms. Sun began to study French horn with Chin-Hua Tsao, who was the principle horn in Taipei Symphony Orchestra for 25 years. Having toured with her high school orchestra in , 1993, Yu-Ju performed in Malaysia and Australia. She was award the championship from the French Horn Youth Soloists Competition in 1995 in Taiwan. Ms. Sun entered the Taipei Municipal Nan-men middle school and the National Wu-Ling High school as a top student. During these six years, Ms. Sun also attended the National Taiwan Youth Symphony Orchestra giving public concerts in Taiwan, France, Rumania, Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Because of her eclectic musical palate, Ms. Sun attended the Dizzy Jazz Wind Band from 1993-2002 playing jazz from different counties, giving more than one thousand concerts in public during her time there. Ms. Sun and her twin sister gave three public recitals during their college years. In 2004, she graduated with her Bachelor's from Taipei SooChow University. Her professor, Yu-Biah Hou, highly recommended her as an assistant professor to many elementary and middle schools in the Taiwan area. In 2005, Ms. Sun entered the Taoyuan Symphony Band as the principle horn player. She also attended the Hong Kong International Band Festival and the Macau Bane Fair. Yu-Ju has played in master classes given by William Caballero and Hans Clebsch. Mr. Sun is currently pursuing her second years of the Master Degree of Music Program at Lynn University Conservatory of Music studying with Gregory Miller. Asuncion is Coordinator of Piano and Collaborative Arts Studies at the University of Memphis and enjoys an active concert career, performing with distinguished musicians including cellist Lynn Harrell and violinist Cho-Liang Lin and the Vega and Emerson String Quartets.
