Synthesis and spectral characterization of copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), oxovanadium(IV) and ruthenium(II) complexes of some conjugated 2-hydroxyacetophenones
317-320A few metal complexes of the type ML2nB [where M=Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and VO(II); L=2-hydroxy-ω- (2' -furylacryloyl)-acetophenone(HFA); B=H2O; n=0,2] and Ru(II) complexes of 2-hydroxy-ω-(4-Xcinnamoyl) acetophenones (HXCA) [where X=H, CI, Me or OMe] have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR; electronic, and ESR spectra and
magnetic susceptibility studies. The ligands coordinate through carbonyl and enolic oxygens. From the ESR spectra it is observed that copper(II) and vanadyl(IV) complexes are monomers
