Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella toimiva toimintamalli työpajoihin. Tavoitteena oli pitää kolme tasokasta työpajaa sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoille perioperatiivisesta hoitotyöstä, jotka auttaisivat ja vahvistaisivat heidän työskentelyään kirurgisessa harjoittelussa. Tavoitteena oli myös saada sairaanhoitajaopiskelijat hyödyntämään työpajoissa oppimiaan perioperatiivisen hoitotyön taitoja ammattitaitoa edistävän kirurgisen harjoittelujakson aikana. Tämä opinnäytetyö oli toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö ja sen tutkimuksellisuus koostui sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoille tehdystä sähköisestä kyselylomakkeesta ja sen analysoinnista. Kyselylomakkeen avulla tutkin työpajan työskentelyn vaikuttavuutta ja arvioin sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoiden osaamista kirurgisessa harjoittelussa.
Opinnäytetyön tuotos, toimintamalli, tehtiin osana sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoiden perioperatiivisen hoitotyön opintoja.
Opinnäytetyössä käytettiin kvantitatiivista eli määrällistä tutkimusmenetelmää.Työpajat olivat osa sairaanhoitajaopiskelijoiden opintoja, joten työpajojen teemojen piti täyttää Laurean opetussuunnitelman vaatimukset. Teemat olivat: steriilin toimenpidepöydän valmistelu ja puhdistus, kirurginen käsienpesu ja desinfektio, steriilipukeutuminen ja perusinstrumentit.The purpose of this thesis was to design a functional working model for workshops. The aim was to hold three high-level workshops for nursing students on perioperative nursing that would help and strengthen their work in surgical training. The aim was also to get nursing students to utilize the perioperative nursing skills learned in the workshops during their surgical training.
This thesis was a functional thesis and its research consists of an online questionnaire for nursing students and the analysis of the questionnaire. With the help of the questionnaire I studied the effectiveness of the workshop and evaluated the competence of nursing students in surgical training. The output was made as part of the studies of nursing students in which the topic was perioperative nursing. In this thesis a quantitative research method was used. The workshops were part of the students’
medical studies so the themes of the workshops had to meet the requirements of the curriculum of Laurea University of Applied Sciences. Preparation and cleaning of a sterile operating table, surgical hand wash and disinfection, sterile dressing and basic instruments were the themes. For example the Likert scale was used to evaluate the results as well as categorizing of the open questions. According to the nursing students, they found the workshop teaching good,
important and useful to them. The most important conclusion came from the extra need for practical instruction. The development targets are: additional material for demonstration, more time for practical guidance and adequate facilities for teaching. More research is needed in general to address this topic more in order to focus on perioperative workshops
