Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella, toteuttaa ja arvioida kolme erisisältöistä seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveyttä edistävää opetustuntia erään Raumalla sijaitsevan peruskoulun kolmelle 8.-luokalle. Näillä toiminnallisilla opetustunneilla opetusmenetelminä käytettiin muun muassa luennointia PowerPoint -esitysten avulla, tapausopetusta, pelejä ja ryhmätyöskentelyä. Aiheina olivat seksuaalisuus, seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveys, seksuaalioikeudet, ehkäisymenetelmät ja seksitaudit. SPR:n kehittämää kumikoulua käytettiin yhden opetustunnin sisältönä.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli lisätä nuorten tietämystä seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveydestä ja siten edistää heidän seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveyttään. Tavoitteena oli muun muassa nuorten tietämyksen lisäämisen avulla suunnittelemattomien raskauksien ja seksitautien ehkäisy sekä tiedon lisääminen seksuaalisen väkivallan tunnistamisesta ja ehkäisemisestä. Seksuaalisuuden puheeksiotto on terveydenhuollon ammattilaisen velvollisuus, ja opinnäytetyöntekijöiden yhtenä henkilökohtaisena tavoitteena olikin oppia ottamaan seksuaalisuus puheeksi hoitotyössä.
Opetustuntien toteuduttua pyydettiin palautetta arviointilomakkein sekä opettajilta että oppilailta. Oppilaiden arviointilomakkeessa kysyttiin muun muassa opetustuntien hyödyllisyydestä ja kiinnostavuudesta. Suurin osa nuorista (n=43) koki opetustunneista olleen hyötyä ja piti aiheita kiinnostavina. Lähes kaikki vastasivat saaneensa uutta tietoa toteutuneilla opetustunneilla. Arviointilomakkeessa oppilailta kysyttiin tyytyväisyyttä opetustunteihin kouluarvosanalla mitattuna. Nuorten vastausten keskiarvo tyytyväisyydestä opetustunteihin oli 8,2.
Opettajilta kysyttiin mielipidettä seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveyttä edistävien opetustuntien toteutuksesta ja tunneille laadittujen tavoitteiden toteutumisen onnistuneisuudesta. Vastausten (n=3) mukaan opetustuntien sisällöt olivat oppilaiden tarpeita vastaavia ja laaditut tavoitteet toteutuivat hyvin. Jatkossa olisi hyvä toteuttaa yhä toiminnallisempia opetustunteja yläkoululaisille ja esimerkiksi suunnitella, toteuttaa ja arvioida etenkin erityisluokalle suunnattuja seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveyttä käsitteleviä opetustunteja.The purpose of this thesis was to plan, implement and evaluate three lessons about sexual and reproductive health promotion with different contents for three eight grades. Teaching methods of these functional lessons were lecturing with PowerPoint –programs, case teaching, games and teamwork. Subjects of these lessons were sexuality, sexual and reproductive health, sexual rights, contraceptive methods and sexually transmitted diseases. A skill test of the Finnish Red Cross on how to use a condom was the content of the one lesson.
The aim of the thesis was to increase young people´s knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and thus contribute to their sexual and reproductive health. The aim was inter alia the prevention of unpremeditated pregnancies and adding information about identification and prevention of sexual violence. Bringing up the subject of sexuality is the responsibility of health care professional. One of the personal goals of the authors of this thesis is to learn to bring up the subject of sexuality within nursing.
When lessons were put into practice, students and teachers were asked for feedback using a questionnaire. Students were asked for example how useful and interesting the lessons were. Most of the students (n=43) felt that the lessons were useful and they also thougt the subjects of the lessons were interesting. Almost all of the students responded that the lessons gave them new information. Students were asked on a scale of 4-10 how satisfied they were with the lessons and the average of the responses was 8,2.
Teachers were asked questions about the implementation of the lessons about sexual and reproductive health promotion. Teachers were also asked how well the objectives of the lessons were met. According to the responses (n=3) the contents of the lessons met the need of the students and the objectives for the lessons were met well. In the future it would be good to implement more and more lessons about functional sexual and reproductive health promotion for upper level students. It would also be good to plan, implement and evaluate lessons about sexual and reproductive health promotion, especially for students with special needs
