Tämän opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli selvittää Salon kaupungin terveyspalveluiden henkilökunnalta, mitä he tietävät Arkeen Voimaa -ohjelmasta (ArVo), millaisia näkemyksiä heillä on vapaaehtoistyön haasteista ja mahdollisuuksista sekä miten vapaaehtoistyötä voitaisiin kehittää. Arkeen Voimaa -ohjelman toimijat voivat kehittää saadun tiedon pohjalta vapaaehtoistyön ja perusterveydenhuollon yhteistyötä.
Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin sähköisenä kyselynä. Kysely lähetettiin 200:lle terveyspalvelujen työntekijälle ja kyselyyn vastasi 59 työntekijää. Vastausprosentiksi muodostui 29,5%. Kohderyhmä muodostuu lääkäreistä, hoitajista ja avustavasta henkilöstöstä. Aineisto analysoitiin tilastollisesti. Kysely toteutettiin syys- lokakuun 2016 aikana.
Tuloksista ilmeni, että Arkeen Voimaa -ohjelma on ollut esillä terveyspalveluissa, koska lähes kaikki olivat kuulleet kyseisestä ohjelmasta ja he tiesivät, mistä ArVo-ohjelmassa on kyse. Vastaajat tiesivät, että ohjelma on suunnattu pitkäaikaissairaille, mutta jotkut heistä eivät tienneet, että se on myös heidän omaisiaan varten.
Kyselyyn vastanneet Salon kaupungin terveyspalveluiden työntekijät pitivät vapaaehtoistyötä tarpeellisena asiana ja he luottavat siihen, että vapaaehtoiset noudattavat vaitiolovelvollisuutta ja että he panostavat työn laatuun. Haasteena koettiin kuitenkin informaation kulku, sillä vastaajien mielestä vapaaehtoistyötä tulisi saada näkyvämmäksi. Työntekijät ehdottivat muun muassa, että näkyvyyttä saisi lisää mainostamalla esimerkiksi aikakausilehdissä ja sosiaalisessa mediassa.
Jatkossa olisi tärkeä selvittää myös vapaaehtoisten näkemyksiä yhteistyöstä ja sen kehittämistarpeista. Yleisesti vapaaehtoistyöstä voisi kirjoittaa myös artikkeleita alan lehdissä ja muissa julkaisuissa näkyvyyden lisäämiseksi.The purpose of this thesis is to figure out what the health care staff of Salo knows about the program Arkeen Voimaa and what kind of opinions they have about the challenges and possibilities about volunteer work and also how volunteer work could be developed. Based on the gathered information the authors of the program Arkeen Voimaa could develop the co-operation between volunteer work and health care.
This thesis was executed through an inquiry. The inquiry was sent to 200 employees and 59 employees responded to it. The percentage of the responses was 29,5%. The target group consists of doctors, nurses and other assisting staff. The material was analyzed statistically. The inquiry was executed during September and November 2016, when the exploration permit was granted.
The results revealed that the program Arkeen Voimaa has been on display in health care, because almost everyone had heard about the program and they knew what the ArVo is about. The respondents knew that the program is directed to chronically ill patient, but some of them didn’t know that it is also for their relatives.
The health care staff of Salo who responded in the inquiry thought that volunteer work is necessary. They also trust that the volunteer workers respect the obligation of confidentiality and that they invest in work quality. However they experienced that the challenge was the flow of information, for the respondents thought that volunteer work should be more visible. The employees suggested among other things that more visibility would be achieved through advertising for example in magazines and in social media.
In future it would be important to figure out the point of view of volunteer workers about co-operation and development. Also generally someone could write articles about volunteer work in trade magazines and in other publications to increase visibility
