Tämän opinnäytetyömme tarkoituksena oli selvittää lapsen kokemuksia ja toiveita uusperheessä asumisesta. Tavoitteena oli välittää lapsen kokemusta uusperheen aikuisille lisäten lapsen kuulemista ja sen myötä hänen osallisuuttaan uusperheessä. Tutkimus toteutettiin käyttäen puolistrukturoitua haastattelua. Tutkimuksessa haastateltiin kolmea 5-6-vuotiasta uusperheessä asuvaa lasta, minkä jälkeen lapsen tuottaman tieto käytiin läpi yhdessä lapsen ja hänen uusperheensä aikuisten kanssa.
Tutkimuksessamme käytettiin kvalitatiivista eli laadullista lähestymistapaa. Aineisto analysoitiin käyttämällä induktiivista eli aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysia.
Tutkimustuloksissa nousi esiin lasten ja aikuisten poikkeava näkemys erityisesti lähivanhemman ja uusperheen kanssa yhdessä tehdyistä asioista. Lapset osasivat nimetä vain vähän tai ei ollenkaan yhteistä tekemistä, kun taas uusperheen aikuiset nimesivät monia asioita, joita puuhailevat lasten tai koko perheen kanssa yhdessä. Uuden aikuisen rooli näyttäytyi sekä lapsille että uusille aikuisille samanlaisena: uudet aikuiset tuntuivat jäävän yhteisen tekemisen suhteen taka-alalle, eikä yhteisiä tekemisen hetkiä ei ihmeemmin löydetty.
Lasten sisarussuhteet näyttäytyivät lapsille tärkeinä ihmissuhteina. Sekä uus- että täyssisarukset olivat niitä, joiden kanssa arjen erilaisia tilanteita jaettiin eniten. Kaikista eniten touhuttiin niiden sisarusten kanssa, jotka olivat lähellä vastaajan omaa ikää. Uusperheen aikuiset havahtuivat haastattelun myötä siihen, että lasta pitäisi jatkossa ottaa nykyistä enemmän huomioon ja häneltä pitäisi kysyä enemmän asioita.
Jatkotutkimuksen aiheena voisi olla lasten kotiosallisuuden selvittäminen lapsiperheissä.The purpose of this thesis was to find out about children’s experiences and hopes about living in a blended family. The object was to support children becoming listened to and participating in their blended family. The data for this thesis were collected by interviewing three 5 – 6 years old children who live in a blended family. After the interviews, the results were reported to the blended family parents. The data were content-analyzed.
The results of this thesis showed that children and adults had a differing view of what the children have done together with their biological parent and with their blended family. The children could name only a few or no things they have done together with the adults, whereas the adults named many things they have done together with their children and the whole family.
It seemed that children did not do much together with their new adults and the new adults saw this in the same way. This research showed that relationships with siblings are very important to children. The children were most involved with those siblings who were nearest to their own age. Thanks to this research, the adults in the blended families started to think that in future they should discuss with their children and ask about their opinions more often.
