Tämä opinnäytetyö tutkii ja käsittelee vuonna 2014 järjestettyä Nuorten ja opiskelijoiden YK-päivät -tapahtumaa. Tapahtumaa on järjestetty jo 11 kertaa ja vuonna 2015 on sen 12. tapahtumavuosi. Tapahtuman pääjärjestäjänä toimii vuosittain Suomen YK-liitto, joka järjesti vuoden 2014 tapahtuman yhteistyössä Jyväskylän YK-yhdistyksen ja Suomen YK-nuorten kanssa. Tämän opinnäytetyön tilaajana toimii Suomen YK-liitto.
Tapahtumalle ei ole aiemmin tehty systemaattista ja analyyttista kehittämistyötä. Opinnäytetyö tutkiikin tapahtuman kehittämistarpeita ja niiden tunnistamisen jälkeen luo niille toteuttamisaikataulun vuoden 2015 tapahtuman toimintasuunnitelman muodossa. Opinnäytetyössä asetettuja tavoitteita on luoda tilaajaorganisaatiolle työkalu, joka helpottaa organisaatiota tapahtuman toteuttamisessa ja seurannan ylläpitämisessä. Vuoden 2015 tapahtuman toimintasuunnitelma vastaa näihin tavoitteisiin.
Opinnäytetyössä käytettyjä tutkimusmenetelmiä ovat kyselyt, haastattelut, aivoriihityöskentely ja omakohtainen havainnointi tapahtuman tuottajan näkökulmasta. Opinnäytetyössä tehdään tapahtuman kehittämistä kolmessa eri vaiheessa. Ensin kerätty tieto analysoidaan ja kehittämisen kohteet nostetaan esiin. Toisessa vaiheessa kehittämisen kohteet jaetaan kuuteen eri osa-alueeseen, joissa jokaisessa kohteet arvioidaan realistisesti. Kolmannessa kehittämisvaiheessa arvioidut kehittämiskohteet siirretään eteenpäin toteutettaviksi vuoden 2015 tapahtuman toimintasuunnitelmassa, ja niille luodaan aikataulutettu toteuttamissuunnitelma sekä vastuunjako. Näin työ etenee portaittain kohti organisaatiota palvelevaa työkalua.
Järjestökentällä toimivat tapahtumajärjestäjät voivat käyttää opinnäytetyötä mallina siitä, miten pienillä resursseilla tapahtumalle voi tehdä kehittämistyötä.This thesis examines and discusses the event UN day for Youth and Students organized in 2014. The event has been organized already for 11 times and in 2015 it will be its 12th time. The event is organized annually by the UN Association of Finland. The 2014 event was organized in cooperation with the United Nations Association of Jyväskylä and the Finnish UN Youth. This thesis is sub-scribed by the UN Association of Finland.
There has not been a systematic and analytical development done for the event. The thesis there-fore examines the event's development needs and after their identification creates a timetable of implementation in the form of the 2015 event action plan. The thesis objectives are set to create the client organization a tool that allows the process of event organizing to be implemented and moni-tored more easily. The 2015 event Action Plan responds to these objectives.
The methods used in the thesis include surveys, interviews, brainstorming and personal observation of the event from the perspective of the event producer. In the thesis the event development is done in three stages. First, all the collected data is analysed and development needs highlighted. In the second stage of the development, the highlighted development needs are divided into six dif-ferent sections, in which each need is assessed realistically. In the third stage of the development, the assessed needs are moved forward to be implemented in the 2015 event Action plan, and a scheduled plan of implementation and a division of responsibilities are created. In this way the the-sis proceeds step by step towards the tools that the client organization needs.
