Tässä opinnäytetyössä tutkin monikulttuurisessa työympäristössä työskenteleviä Yhteisöpedagogi (AMK)- tutkinnon suorittaneita henkilöitä, heidän työnkuvaa, työssä jaksamista sekä ammatti-identiteettiä.
Opinnäytetyön tilaajana toimi Humanistinen ammattikorkeakoulu (Humak). Opinnäytetyö oli osa Humakin laajempaa Yhteisöpedagogi 2025 - ennakointitutkimusta, jonka tavoitteena oli selvittää yhteisöpedagogi (AMK) – tutkinnon suorittaneiden monipuolisia työympäristöjä laadullisen tutkimuksen keinoin.
Työtä varten haastattelin viittä (5) Humanistisen ammattikorkeakoulun kansalaistoiminnan ja nuorisotyön koulutusohjelmasta valmistunutta, monikulttuurista työtä tekevää, henkilöä. Haastattelut toteutettiin teemahaastatteluina Joensuussa ja Helsingissä keväällä 2013.
Opinnäytetyötä sekä tutkimuksen pohjalta saatuja tuloksia voidaan jatkossa hyödyntää Humakin opetustilanteissa sekä mahdollisissa jatko-tutkimuksissa, jotka koskevat yhteisöpedagogien ammatti-identiteettiä ja työnkuvaa eri työkentillä. Yhteisöpedagogi 2025 -ennakointitutkimuksen pohjalta tietoja voidaan käyttää opetussuunnitelmien räätälöimiseksi, niin, että koulutuksen sisältö vastaa tulevaisuuden työelämän haasteisiin ja vaatimuksiin.
Työn alussa on käyty läpi työn kannalta keskeisimpiä käsitteitä, jotka auttavat ymmärtämään työn ajankohtaisuutta ja hahmottamaan paremmin työn sisältöä. Käsitteiden jälkeen on kerrottu, kuinka työ sai alkunsa, miten aineisto hankittiin ja millä tavoin aineiston analysointi eteni. Tuloksissa kerrotaan, minkälaisia työn kannalta oleellisia asioita haastatteluista nousi esiin. Tuloksen sisältävät myös paljon sitaatteja haastatteluista, koska sitaatit herättävät tekstin paremmin eloon ja tuovat haastateltavien ajatukset tarkemmin lukijan tietoisuuteen. Tulosten tarkastelussa on tulosten pohjalta pohdittu, millainen ammatti-identiteetti monikulttuurisella työkentällä työskentelevillä yhteisöpedagogeilla (AMK) on ja mitkä asiat ovat vaikuttaneet ammatti-identiteetin syntyyn ja kehittymiseen. Suurennuslasin alla ovat monikulttuurisen työympäristön piirteet, monikulttuurisen työn merkitys henkilökohtaisella ja yleisellä tasolla sekä oman osaamisen reflektointi. Johtopäätöksessä tarkastelun tulokset sidotaan yhteen. Työn lopuksi olen pohtinut työn luotettavuutta, eettisyyttä sekä työn hyödynnettävyyttä jatkossa.In this thesis, I researched the professional identity, wellbeing at job and job functions of community educators, who have graduated from Humak University of applied sciences.
The Subscriber of the work is Humak University of applied sciences. This thesis is part of a larger forethought research called Community educator 2025. The aim of the research is to clarify a wide range of graduated community educators’ working environments, through qualitative analysis.
For the thesis I interviewed five (5) people graduated from the degree program for civic activities and youth work in Humak University of applied sciences. All the interviewees were currently working in multicultural working environment. The interviews were conducted by theme interview and the interviews were held in Helsinki and Joensuu during the spring 2013.
Results of this thesis can be used as a part of teaching in Humak and in potential future follow-up researches concerning the professional identity and job function of community educators. The results based on the Community educator 2025 –research can be used to construct Humak’s curriculums so that the contents of the education equal with the challenges and demands of working life in the future.
At the beginning of this work, I have sifted through the main concepts of the thesis. These concepts will help to understand the topicality and subject matter of this piece of work. After the main concepts there has been told how the thesis started, how the legwork was done and which way it was analyzed. In the result chapter has been told, what kind of relevant matters came to prominence out of the interviews. The results also include many quotes from the interviews, because these quotes bring life to the text as well as bring the interviewees closer to a reader. In the result review man can find reflection on the results such as what kind of professional identity interviewees seemed to have and what kind of issues have effected to a genesis and development of this identity. Under the microscope there are the features and the meaning of the multicultural work as well as individual’s reflection of their own competence. At the conclusion chapter these outcomes have been band. In the end of the thesis I have pondered the reliability, ethicalness and the recoverability of the research
