Opinnäytetyön aiheena on Tampereen Tulkkikeskus Oy perustamisestaan vuodesta 1989 alkaen. Tietoja tulkkikeskuksesta ja sen toiminnasta vuosien aikana ei ole aiemmin koottu yhteen paikkaan, joten työni tavoite on saada katsaus vuosien aikana toteutetusta toiminnasta ja siinä tapahtuneista muutoksista. Kuvaan työssäni tulkkikeskuksen perustamiseen johtaneita tapahtumia ja kolmen tulkkauspalvelualalla tapahtuneen kilpailutuksen vaikutusta tulkkikeskustulkin työhön.
Tilaajana työssäni on työnantajani Tampereen Tulkkikeskus Oy. Tampereen Tulkkikeskus Oy:n omistaa Tampereen Viittomakieliset ry. Omistaja on yleishyödyllinen yhdistys ja tällä hetkellä tulkkauspalveluja tarjoavan yrityksen omistuspohja on ainoa laatuaan Suomessa.
Työni on lähestymistavaltaan tapaustutkimus ja se on tehty dokumenttianalyysin keinoin. Olen koonnut hajallaan olevia tietoja Tampereen Tulkkikeskus Oy:n ja Tampereen Viittomakieliset ry:n arkistoista. Olen saanut myös asiakirjoja Tampereen kaupunginarkistosta. Lisäksi olen saanut vastauksia sähköpostitse lähetettyihin kysymyksiin liittyen tulkkikeskukseen muutamalta pitkäaikaiselta tulkkikeskuksen ja Tampereen kaupungin työntekijältä.Subject of this thesis is the Tampere Interpreting Centre Ltd. since its establishment in 1989. For information interpretation center and its activities over the years have not been previously collected in one place, so my goal is to get an overview over the steps taken during the operation and the changes in these details. The client of my work is my employer Tampere Interpreting Centre Ltd. Tampere Interpreting Centre Ltd is owned by the Tampere in Sign Language Association. The owner is a non-profit association and is currently providing interpretation services to the company's ownership structure is the only one of its kind in Finland.
My work is a case study approach, and it is made of document analysis. I've put together scattered information of Tampere Interpreter Centre Ltd and Tampere in Sign Language Association's archives. I have received the documents archive of the city of Tampere. In addition, I received a response via e-mail sent to the questions related to interpreting center in a few long-standing interpreters, and the city of Tampere worker
