Tämä opinnäytetyö käsittelee Kemin kaupungin sisäisen jakelun nykytilan kartoitusta. Tutkimuksessa tavoitteena on selvittää Kemin kaupungin jakelun nykytilannetta, jakelun toimivuutta, sekä millaisia resursseja postin ja tarvikkeiden jakeluun käyte-tään.
Tutkimuskysymyksiin etsitään vastauksia haastatteluiden, havainnoinnin ja kyselyn avulla. Tutkimuksen teoreettinen viitekehys koostuu kahdesta eri teoriaosuudesta, jotka ovat logistiikka ja toimitusketjun hallinta sekä jakelu. Tutkimuksen teoriaosuu-dessa käytetään alan kirjallisuutta sekä Internet –lähteitä.
Opinnäytetyön aineisto on kerätty pääosin haastatteluiden avulla. Aineisto käsittelee Kemin kaupungin jakelun nykytilannetta, Peurasaaren keskusvarastoa, sisäistä postin- ja tarvikkeiden jakelua sekä jakelujärjestelmän toimintatapoja. Tutkimustuloksia saatiin myös toimipisteille suunnatulla kuljetustarvekyselyllä.
Kemin kaupungin jakelun nykytilan tarkastelu osoitti, että kaupungin sisäinen jakelu-toiminta ei perustu mihinkään suunnitelmalliseen jakeluratkaisuun. Jakelutoiminnan toimintamallit ovat ajan mittaan muokkautuneet nykymuotoonsa ilman täsmällistä suunnittelua. Kaupungin sisäiselle kuljetustoiminnalle on tehostamisen tarvetta.This thesis deals with the present state of internal distribution in the city of Kemi. The objective of this thesis is to find out the present state of distribution in Kemi, the functionality of distribution and the types of resources internal postal delivery and material distribution use.
Interviews, observation and survey are used to answer the research questions. The theoretical framework consists of two separate sections which are logistics, and supply chain management and distribution. The theoretical sections of the research draw from literature discussing the field of logistics, and Internet sources.
The data for the thesis is mainly gathered through interviews. The data deals with the present state of internal distribution in Kemi, the central warehouse in Peurasaari, internal postal and material delivery and also the methods of the distribution system. Research results were also gathered with a survey.
This research of the present state of distribution in Kemi City showed that the internal distribution system is not based on any systematic distribution solution. The methods of the distribution system have been shaped over time to their present state without any specific planning. This research revealed a need for enhancement in the internal distribution system in Kemi City
