Juankosken kaupungin kotihoidossa on otettu käyttöön Hyvinvointi-TV-palvelu. Hyvinvointi-
TV:seen on liitetty myös omaisliittymä, jonka avulla kotihoidon asiakas ja hänen omaisensa ovat
voineet pitää yhteyttä.
Opinnäytetyössä selvitettiin Hyvinvointi-TV:tä käyttävien asiakkaiden omaisten kokemuksia Hyvinvointi-
TV:n ja omaisliittymän käytöstä sekä laitteena että palveluna. Tavoitteena oli, että opinnäytetyön
avulla Juankoskella voidaan kehittää Hyvinvointi-TV-palveluita ja yhä useampia omaisia
saataisiin kiinnostumaan laitteen käyttöön ottamisesta. Tavoitteena oli myös Hyvinvointi-TV:n palvelujen
kehittäminen niin, että se tukisi entistä enemmän ja useamman ikääntyneen selviytymistä
kotona mahdollisimman pitkään. Hyvinvointi-TV palvelun myötä myös ikääntyneiden mahdollinen
yksinäisyys voisi vähentyä. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana toimi Juankosken kaupungin kotihoito.
Tutkimus toteutettiin kvalitatiivisena eli laadullisena tutkimuksena. Aineisto kerättiin haastattelemalla
viittä Hyvinvointi-TV:tä käyttävän asiakkaan omaista. Aineisto analysoitiin induktiivisella sisällönanalyysillä.
Omaisten kokemukset Hyvinvointi-TV:stä ja siihen liitetystä omaisliittymästä olivat pääasiassa positiivisia.
Omaiset kokivat yhteydenpidon omaisliittymän kautta tärkeänä yhteydenpitoväylänä. Hyvinvointi-
TV:n koettiin vähentävän ikääntyneiden yksinäisyyttä sekä lisäävän kotona asumisen turvallisuutta,
etenkin jos laite on sijoitettuna sopivaan paikkaan. Toisaalta, juuri laitteen sijoittamisen
haasteena on yksityisyyden toteutuminen laitteen ollessa yhteiskäytössä. Laitteen ja liittymän
käyttöönotto koettiin helpoksi. Häiriötekijöinä mainittiin muun muassa mahdollinen yhteyden pätkiminen
ja huoltokatkot, jolloin yhteyden ottaminen häiriintyi.
Juankosken kotihoidon henkilökunta ja laitetoimittaja voivat hyödyntää opinnäytetyön tuloksia
Hyvinvointi-TV palvelun kehittämisessä. Kehittämisideoina nousi esille muun muassa Hyvinvointi-
TV:n kautta tulevien ohjelmien monipuolistaminen sekä yhteyden luominen myös omaisen ja kotihoidon
välille. Jatkotutkimusaiheena voisi olla esimerkiksi sen selvittäminen kuinka muistisairaus
vaikuttaa Hyvinvointi-TV:n käyttöön.Caring-TV service has been taken into use in the home care of the town of Juankoski. The operating
system called Vidya Virtual Office Mobile has been developed for the relatives of the clients in
the home care. This operating system requires the normal video conference equipment so that the
relative and the clients of the home care can be in contact with the help of the computer of the
relative and the Caring-TV.
In this thesis the experiences of the relatives of the clients using the Caring-TV and the Vidyo Virtual
Office Mobile both as equipment and as service were clarified. The goal was with the help of
this thesis to be able to develop the services of the Caring-TV as well as to increase the interest of
more and more relatives to take this equipment into use. The goal was also to develop the services
of the Caring-TV so that it would support more aged to get along at home as long as possible.
The Caring-TV service could also diminish the possible loneliness of the aged. The client organization
of this thesis was the home care unit of the town of Juankoski. The study was realized
with qualitative methods. The material was gathered by interviewing five relatives of the clients
using the Caring-TV.
The experiences of the relatives concerning the use of the Caring-TV and the attached Vidyo Office
Mobile were mainly positive. The relatives felt that the contact through the video telephone
was an important media of communication. The Caring-TV was experienced to reduce the loneliness
of the aged and to increase the security when living at home, especially if the equipment was
located in a suitable place. The implementation of the equipment and the interface was considered
simple. As disturbing factors were mentioned among others the possible breaking up of the contact
and the service breaks. The ideas for this development which came up, were among others
the diversifying of the programs of the Caring-TV as well as also making contacts between the
relatives and the health care unit. One topic for further studies could be for example clarifying how
memory diseases affect the use of the Caring-TV
