Opinnäytetyössä vertailtiin kolmea verkkopalveluiden ja –sovellusten konseptointiin tarkoitettua ohjelmistoa. Työn toimeksiantajana oli sähköisen liiketoiminnan asiantuntijayritys Ambientia Oy.
Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli selvittää, minkälaisella ohjelmalla voidaan nopeuttaa ja parantaa konseptointityötä Ambientian projektimallissa. Vertailu suoritettiin käyttäen Pughin evaluointimatriisia, jossa vertailussa ehdotettujen ohjelmien käyttöä verratiin Ambientian aiempiin konseptointimenetelmiin. Työssä käydään läpi Ambientian projektimalli, konseptointi käsitteenä sekä konseptoinnin tila Ambientialla työn alkaessa ja suunta, mihin sitä halutaan kehittää.
Evaluointimatriisissa käytettävät kriteerit kerättiin Ambientian eri käyttöliittymäsuunnittelijoiden kanssa käytäyjen teemahaastattelujen sekä konseptointia ja käyttöliittymäsuunnittelua käsittelevän kirjallisuuden ja verkkomateriaalin kautta. Kriteerit arvioitiin kolmen casen kautta saatujen käyttökokemuksien perusteella. Kaikki caset tavoitteineen ja tuloksineen on käyty läpi luvussa viisi.
Työn tuloksena saatiin johtopäätös siitä, että vertailussa ollut Axure RP Pro vastaa kattavimmin Ambientian konseptointitarpeisiin. Myös muiden vertailun ohjelmien käyttömahdollisuuksia on pohdittu luvussa seitsemän.The purpose of this thesis was to compare three programs intended for website and software concept design. The work was commissioned by Ambientia Oy, a digital business consultant company.
The aim of the thesis was to find out what kind of program could be used to fasten and improve concept design in Ambientia’s project model. The comparison was made using Pugh’s evaluation matrix, a method where the proposed new software was compared to the previous concept design methods used by Ambientia. The thesis introduces Ambientia’s project model, an idea of concept design, the current state of concept design at Ambientia and the desired direction of development.
The criteria used in the evaluation matrix were collected from interviews with different user interface designers at Ambientia and also from literature and web material concerning concept and user interface design. The criteria were evaluated on the basis of user experience received from the cases where the programs under comparison were used. All the cases with their goals and results are featured in chapter five.
The conclusion of the thesis was that Axure RP Pro is the most suited for Ambientia’s concept design needs. The usability of other programs under comparison is also discussed in chapter seven
