Opinnäytetyöprosessin tavoitteena oli tuottaa Jyväskylän Katulähetys ry:n Erityistuen työmuodolle ulkoasultaan helppokäyttöinen ja selkeä perehdytysaineisto, josta löytyy ohjeita työhön, ja siten tukea työntekijöitä heidän työssään. Tarkoituksena oli saada aineisto sellaiseen kielelliseen muotoon, että se palvelee Erityistuen työntekijöitä ja sopii heidän kristilliseen viitekehykseensä. Aineiston oli tarkoitus toimia myös hakuteoksena ja auttaa tiedonhaussa. Perehdytysaineistolla pyrittiin ohjaamaan työntekijöitä huomioimaan työtä ohjaavia lakeja ja säädöksiä. Lisäksi perehdytysaineistossa käsiteltiin työn keskeisiä sisältöalueita sekä tuotiin esille keskeistä ammattisanastoa, minkä tarkoituksena oli helpottaa Katulähetys ry:n eri koulutustaustaisten työntekijöiden yhteistyötä moniammatillisten verkostojen ja sosiaalityön kanssa. Perehdytysaineisto oli tarkoitus saada yksikössä todelliseen käyttöön yhteisön hyödyksi.
Perehdytysaineistoa suunniteltiin, koottiin ja arvioitiin yhteistyössä Erityistuen työntekijöiden kanssa. Aineistoon tulevaa materiaalia rajattiin tarvekyselyn, keskustelujen ja esitestauksen kautta saadun palautteen perusteella.
Opinnäytetyöprosessin aikana Jyväskylän Katulähetys ry:ssä tapahtui organisaatiomuutoksia ja henkilöstövaihdoksia, jotka osaltaan vaikuttivat perehdytysaineiston muotoutumiseen. Perehdytysaineisto esiteltiin uudelle, vastamuotoutuneelle Erityis- ja läheistyön työmuodolle, jolloin työntekijöillä oli mahdollisuus antaa palautetta. Palautteen pohjalta viimeistelimme aineiston lopulliseen muotoonsa. Perehdytysaineisto luovutettiin yksikön käyttöön kierrekansiin painetun manuaalin lisäksi sähköisenä versiona laitettavaksi Jyväskylän Katulähetys ry:n työntekijöiden verkkoalustalle, E-baselle.
Kolmannen sektorin tekemän mielenterveys- ja päihdetyön tukeminen perehdytysaineiston kautta koettiin tärkeäksi. Koottu perehdytysaineisto on sovellettavissa myös muualle kuin Erityis- ja läheistyöhön. Perehdytysaineistoa voi hyödyntää myös seurakuntien diakoniatyössä. Aineisto ja sen työstäminen hyödytti meitä tulevina diakoneina. Opintojen keskeisten osa-alueiden kertaaminen aineistoa kootessa tuki ammatillista kasvua ja ammatillisen itsevarmuuden vahvistumista. Support, Advices and Respect. Introductory Manual for Jyväskylä Street Mission’s Special Support Work.

The aim of this thesis was to produce an easy to use introductory manual for Jyväskylä Street Mission’s Special Support Work. This introductory manual was supposed to support the employees in their work and give them instructions. One aim was to achieve a linguistic form that would fit the employees’ Christian context. The manual was assumed to function as a reference book and help in informational retrieval. The introductory manual consisted of various segments which talked about the main content of Special Support Work. This included the laws concerning working with people who have problem with excessive drinking or who have mental health problems. Special terminology was used in the manual, which was supposed to help Street Mission’s employees from different backgrounds to cooperate with social workers and to take part in multiprofessional teams. The main goal was to get the introductory manual in real use in the work community for the community’s benefit.
The introductory manual was planned, combined and evaluated together with the employees of Special Support Work. The material for the manual was delineated based on the feedback from pre-inquiry about employees’ needs, from conversations and from pretesting.
During this thesis process some organisation and personnel changes took place in Jyväskylä Street Mission. These changes also made an influence on the introductory manual. Special Support Work altered into Special Support and Personal Counselling Work. The introductory manual was introduced to the new work form and the employees had a possibility to give feedback. Finishing of the manual was done based on the given feedback. The introductory manual was handed over to the Street Missions executive director in a binder. In addition, the manual was given in electric form to be able to be inserted into the E-base intranet of Jyväskylä Street Mission’s employees.
It is necessary to support the work that the third sector does among people with intoxicant or mental health problems. One way of doing so is through an orientation file. The collected introductory manual is adaptable elsewhere as well as in Special Support and Personal Counselling Work. It is also useful in diaconal work. The process of gathering information on the central subjects of our study supported our professional growth and self-confidence. There was a real need for this introductory manual and there are many possibilities for follow-up work with this project. This thesis process was meaningful and educational.
