Tämä opinnäytetyö tehtiin Porin Linjoille. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli kehittää Porin Linjojen kuljetustuotantoa. Päätavoitteena oli antaa uusia ja tuoreita parannusehdotuksia kuljetustuotannosta ulkopuolisen silmin Porin Linjoille. Asetettuihin päämääriin pyrittiin viikon mittaisella kuljetustuotannon havainnoinnilla sekä kuljettajille järjestetyllä ajosarjakyselyllä. Viikon mittainen havainnointi sijoittui joulukuun ensimmäiselle viikolle vuonna 2007 (viikko 49). Ajosarjakysely toteutettiin kirjekyselynä 65 kuljettajalle. Viikon mittaisen havainnoinnin ja ajosarjakyselyn avulla saatiin tutkimukseen tarvittavat tiedot. Tämän opinnäytetyön alussa selvitetään taustoja työlle sekä kerrotaan yleisesti paikallisliikenteestä Suomessa. Lisäksi työn alussa esitellään Porin paikallisliikennettä yksityiskohtaisesti ja tutustutaan Porin Linjojen historiaan sekä toimintaan nykypäivänä. Tämän jälkeen työssä esitellään havainnointiviikon ja ajosarjakyselyn tulokset sekä analysoidaan niitä. Opinnäytetyön lopussa esitellään parannusehdotukset Porin Linjojen kuljetustuotantoon perustuen aiempaan tutkimusmateriaaliin. Tutkimuksen kannalta tärkeimpiä tuloksia saatiin ajosarjakyselyn avoimista vastausvaihtoehdoista sekä havainnointiviikon tilastotiedoista.This final year project was carried out for Porin Linjat Oy. The purpose of the project was to develop the transport production of Porin Linjat. The main objective of the project was to give new and fresh improvement proposals for the transport production with the eyes of an outsider. To achieve the objectives of the project, all the drivers were interviewed. The interview was carried out by a postal working hours questionnaire (which was sent to 65 drivers) and the monitoring of the transport production which lasted for a week. The monitoring was placed in the first week of December during the year 2007 (Week 49). At the beginning of this study, the background of the project is described, and general information about the local traffic in Finland and in Pori is given. After this, the results of the monitoring week and the questionnaire will be introduced and analyzed. At the end of the thesis the improvement proposals based on earlier study material will be introduced. The most important results of this project were acquired by the answers to the open-ended questions of the questionnaire and the statistics of the monitoring week
