Authenticity and sustainable tourism development

Abstract

Tema rada je izvornost i održivi turistički razvoj na primjeru destinacije Dubrovačko primorje. Cilj rada je determinirati osnovna načela održivog razvoja i održivog turističkog razvoja, analizirati ulogu izvornosti u održivom turističkom razvoju, istražiti valorizaciju prirodnih i društvenih resursa u turističke svrhe te predložiti model turistčkog razvoja temeljen na izvornosti i načelima održivog razvoja. Svrha pisanja rada je prikazati razvojne mogućnosti Dubrovačkog primorja. Destinacija Dubrovačko primorje stihijski se i neplanski razvija. Kroz ovaj rad prikazat će se postojeći razvoj te predložiti smjernice budućeg održivog turističkog razvoja. U svrhu stvaranja koncepta održivog turističkog razvoja napravljeno je istraživanje. Ispitani su stavovi lokalnog stanovništva i turista o održivom razvoju te prirodnim i društvenim čimbenicima Dubrovačkog primorja. Prirodni i društveni čimbenici dio su izvornosti koji Dubrovačko primorje čine jedinstvenom destinacijom. Integriranjem izvornih proizvoda i usluga Dubrovačkog primorja dobit će se diferencirana turistička ponuda kojom će se osigurati dugoročni napredak, te planski, održivi i kontrolirani turistički razvoj.The topic of the graduate thesis is authenticity and sustainable tourist development, which will be presented on the destination Dubrovnik West Coast. The main goals of thesis are to present basic principles of the sustainable development, sustainable tourism development, analyse the role of authenticity within sustainable tourist development as well as research how to evaluate natural and social resources and suggesting the model of the tourist development based on the authenticity and principles of the sustainable tourism. The objective of thesis is to show development potential of Dubrovnik West Coast. Destination Dubrovnik West Coast has been developed slowly, without a plan. Within the thesis, current tourism development will be analysed and the guidelines of future sustainable tourist development will be developed. To realize the main goals of thesis primary research has been done. The local residents‟ and tourists‟ attitudes about sustainable development and natural and social factors of Dubrovnik West Coast have been examined. Natural and social factors make Dubrovnik West Coast unique destination, taking a significant part in its authenticity. Integrating authentic products and services of Dubrovnik West Coast differential tourist offer will be realized and long-term process with sustainable and controlled tourism development will be guaranteed
