Esta investigación abordó el tema del manejo inadecuado de los residuos de construcción y demolición (RCD), debido a una inadecuada gestión en obra. En la actualidad estos residuos presentan un problema ambiental, debido al gran volumen que genera la industria de la construcción, ya que en la mayoría de los casos no presenta ningún tipo de aprovechamiento y son arrojados de manera clandestina en lugares no autorizados. En los últimos años, con el auge de la construcción en Latinoamérica y en especial en Colombia, se está evidenciando que una mala gestión en obra con respecto a estos residuos se está convirtiendo en un problema insostenible. La falta de planeación en la gestión integral para tratar RCD en esta industria, que genera todo tipo residuos de las diferentes actividades constructivas, no presentan tratamiento alguno o es escaso en la reducción, reutilización, reciclado y valorización. Este documento concluyó con un desarrollo técnico a nivel investigativo, en una adecuada gestión integral y buenas prácticas, mejorando el aprovechamiento y valorización de estos residuos en obra, e involucrando la economía circular en la cadena de valor al interior de la obra. En la búsqueda de alternativas para una “construcción” nueva, se pretende que la industria de la construcción considere la utilización de los RCD, ya que estos pueden ser usados y reutilizados nuevamente como materias primas, fomentado la valorización de estos residuos, que en la mayoría de los casos se consideran materiales inertes sin valor. This research covers the topic of inadequate handling of construction and demolition waste (C&DW) due to improper worksite management. Currently, this type of waste poses an environmental problem because of the huge quantities of waste that the Construction Industry generates, where in most cases there is not any kind of recycling and waste is thrown away clandestinely in unauthorized places. In recent years, with the construction boom in Latin America and especially in Colombia, it is getting clear that the poor management of this waste on site is becoming an unsustainable problem. The lack of planning in the integral management to treat C&DW in this industry, which generates all kinds of waste from different construction activities, does not include any treatment or with little reuse, recycling and recovery. This document concluded with a technical development at investigative level, of an adequate comprehensive management and good practices, improving the use and recovery of this waste on site, and involving circular economy in a value chain within the worksite. In the search for alternatives for a new “construction”, it is intended that the Construction Industry consider the utilization of C&DW, since it can be reused again as raw materials, promoting the recovery of this waste, which in most cases are considered worthless inert materials.Incluye anexosMaestríaMagíster en ConstrucciónCualitativoProcesos constructivo
