The popularity of smart mobile devices is growing every day. Censis-Ucsi Report on communication 2020
shows that in recent years tablets have doubled their circulation and are present in more than a quarter of
Italian homes and in most cases the owners are families with children. Within this socio-technological
scenario, parents find themselves experiencing a very delicate and complex choice, while on the one hand
they buy mobile devices for the potential educational benefits at the same time they have little knowledge and
few tools with which to evaluate the quality of applications. The choice of age-appropriate content is not
sufficient to guarantee a qualitative selection of content itself. It is therefore necessary to have a standard
recognized by the scientific community and an evaluation system capable of determining the quality and
educational value of applications destinated for the childhood world
