In the era of constant changes, the act of social stigmatization undergoes transformations. This article is an attempt to show the size and range of the influence of the act of social stigmatization in the era of postmodernism. The article consists of three parts. The first one presents an overview of the most important concepts concerning stigmatization. It is worth pointing out that while creating new theories, the original perspectives of the researched issue are constantly revisited. In this article we also tried to indicate the input of the assigning and interaction perspectives into stigmatization research. The theoretical base will definitely help to better understand the changes which can be observed currently. The second part of the article is the attempt to present the contemporary changes in the technological, personal and political aspect, using the example of the experience of the English researcher, G. Green. These changes significantly influence the degree and range of stigmatizing in social life. The third part presents the examples of similar transformations observed in Poland
