For several generations, honest discourse of sex education seems to have been divisive to the extent where it has now become taboo. As a result, others suggested that students commonly associate sex education with diseases, mortality, and the idea that sex is terrible for their bodies and harmful, which is the opposite of the fundamental objectives of sex education; thus, the goal of this study was to find out how informed and aware selected students from public and private senior high schools regarding the notion of sex education and its inclusion in the basic education curriculum. A quantitative study utilizing a self-made survey consisting of 3 parts with a total of 38 questions and was performed online was given to 316 grade 12 STEM students from De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute and Dasmarinas Integrated High School. The respondents were selected using a quota and random sampling procedure, while an inferential method was carried out using a descriptiveevaluative approach, and lastly, to statistically treat relevant data, frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and independent t-test were used. Results have shown that students from the chosen senior high school have a verbal interpretation of a high level of awareness, on the other hand, participating students from private senior high school indicates a very high level of awareness regarding sex education, while for the aspect of level knowledge participating students from public and private senior high schools both indicates a high level of knowledge with regards to the inclusion of sex education to the basic education curriculum. A significant difference was also proven to be present in between the level of awareness and the level of knowledge of students from public and private senior high schools, thus, rejecting the null hypothesis. The findings will benefit the community by being used to develop future lessons and proper curriculums that will introduce it to the target audience in a detailed manner; this will also benefit students by allowing them to identify which parts of the subject they are unaware of and begin to educate themselves using reliable data and information
