Comprensión lectora y aprendizaje del idioma inglés en el nivel básico

Abstract

The main objective of the research was to determine the relationship of reading comprehension with the learning of the English Language at the basic level of the Language Center - UNHEVAL - 2017; in order to know if the progress of Reading, Writing and Grammar are related to reading comprehension in Basic Level VI students. The study was descriptive, prospective and cross-sectional, with a correlational design; The sample consisted of 22 students from the sixth cycle - basic level of the English language; A test was applied for each of the dimensions studied. The results showed that, of the total number of students, they presented a level of reading comprehension "At the beginning" of 9.1%; 40.9% “In process” and 50% “In anticipated achievement” and neither obtained the outstanding achievement. It was concluded that the level of English language learning is related to reading comprehension; Likewise, it was evidenced that the greater the learning of writing, grammar and reading, the better the level of reading comprehension.El objetivo principal de la investigación fue determinar la relación de la comprensión lectora (Listening) con el aprendizaje del Idioma Inglés en el Nivel Básico del Centro de Idiomas – UNHEVAL – 2017; con la finalidad de conocer si el avance del Reading, Writing y Grammar están relacionados con la comprensión lectora en los estudiantes del Nivel Básico. El estudio fue de tipo descriptivo, prospectivo y transversal, de diseño correlacional; la muestra fue de 22 alumnos del VI ciclo – Nivel Básico del Idioma Inglés; se aplicaron pretest y postest para cada una de las dimensiones estudiadas. Los resultados demostraron que, del total de estudiantes, presentaron un nivel de comprensión lectora “En inicio” del 9,1%; “En proceso” el 40,9% y “En logro previsto” el 50% y ninguno obtuvo el logro destacado. Se concluyó en que el nivel del aprendizaje del idioma inglés está relacionado con la comprensión lectora; asimismo, se evidenció que cuanto mayor sea el aprendizaje de la escritura, gramática y lectura mejor será el nivel de comprensión lectora
