This article aims to analyze how the genres Chick-Lit and Chica-Lit are different and can interact intertextually, with the support from theories by Michael Riffaterre (1981), Gérard Génette (1982) and Graham Allen (2000). In order to reach our goal, brief literary analyses of the novels Bridget Jones’s Diary (FIELDING, 1996) and The Dirty Girls Social Club (VALDES, 2003) were carried out. Both books are considered pioneers in their subgenres.

Para atingir tal objetivo, breves análises literárias serão feitas sobre os romances O Diário de Bridget Jones (FIELDING, 1996) e The Dirty Girls Social Club (VALDES, 2003), considerados pioneiros dos seus subgêneros.
