Briquetting of Coke Breeze

Abstract

The paper describes a process for the briquetting of coke breeze. In this process coke breeze is mixed with coke-oven tar and briquetted at low pressure, the briquettes are then heated to 250-270º for maturing. The paper discusses the influence of operating variables like size of coke, pressure, temperature of curing, time of curing and influence of type of tar on the strength of the coke breeze briquettes
