We argue that the normalising and naturalising features of neoliberal discourses can be disrupted using a collaborative autoethnographic practice that seeks to invoke the goddess. Our experience 1 is that the process of telling and sharing stories, particularly for women, can be transformational and empowering, allowing for a more expansive and liberated self that is able to critique and resist the audit culture. By identifying with tropes and characters in Greek myths, we seek to rewrite stories and merge them with our autobiographical experiences of motherhood and working in academia. We suggest that this approach can help women in academia to feel differently about our work and gain a more empowered sense of self
