Contact Information:    sena@xavier.edu (513)745-3296 Course Description An introduction to the selection, implementation, management, and usage of enterprise-wide business application software. Students will gain hands-on exposure to software that supports business processes and learn about the management issues that organizations face when adopting and integrating these systems.  In this course we will learn about the software systems that most large and mid-sized firms use to support their vital business processes.  Over the past decade or so, a major shift in business computing took place as organizations increasingly seek to purchase rather than develop software.   This course will allow students to understand the fundamentals of enterprise systems, the fundamental features of integrated software, issues related to implementation and change management, and the required support necessary to operate these systems.  These issues will be learned by reading textbooks and articles on the subject, by conducting lab exercises using enterprise systems (Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains and Teradata Network), and by interacting with professionals in the field. The course will critically examine the impacts of enterprise system issues via readings on current topics, lab exercises using enterprise systems and by interacting with professionals in the field. Graded Activities:       Participation 10% (includes attendance, class participation, and participation in possible online discussions.)       Exam 30%        Lab Projects and Practical Exam 30%       Group Presentation 15%       Case Analyses and Presentations 15%  Grading Scale: Overall Avg. Letter Grade 93-100% A 90-92.9% A- 87-89.9% B+ 83-86.9% B 80-82.9% B- 77-79.9% C+ 73-76.9% C 70-72.9% C- 60-69.9% D 59%&below F Academic Integrity: Cheating (using or attempting to use unauthorized materials in an academic exercise), fabrication (falsifying or inventing information), facilitating academic dishonesty (helping or attempting to help another commit an act of academic dishonesty), and plagiarism (representing the words or ideas of another as your own) will result in a grade of F for the course.
