 GENDER EFFECTS ON GROUP HIRING DYNAMICS Budget and Timeline Budget Table: Budget Item Expenses LMU Econ Lab Subject Compensation $5/subject * 493 subjects = $2465 Total $2465  Part One of the experiment will be run during Summer 2019.  This will include fine-tuning my questionnaire, solidifying IRB approval of my questionnaire contribution, running the Amazon MTurk part of the experiment, learning how to use the program z-Tree (a program frequently used for economic experiments), and using z-Tree to create the interface that the subjects in Part Two will use during their hiring decisions.  A pilot test of Part Two of the experiment will also be run during summer, to ensure that the logistics will run smoothly during Fall 2019. Part Two will be conducted during Fall 2019.  Specific weekly scheduling will be discussed and accommodated with my mentor, Dr. Jain, because the research will be done simultaneously with her project.  During this semester, the laboratory part of the experiment will be run with real subjects.  Currently my mentor already has funding allocated to compensate 493 subjects for her research.  Since I will be adding a questionnaire, I will be adding extra time to each subject’s session, and so will compensate the 493 subjects for their additional time by paying them an additional $5 each, which is listed in the above budget.  Allocating $5 for each of the 493 subjects would amount to a $2465 total budget.  In Spring 2019, a write-up and analysis of the experiment will be completed, with the intention of producing a research paper for publication.
