TIŠ-ULME66Tiš-Ulme. King of Mardaman*, city ofIdamaraz*, Upper H̊ābūr (Wäfler 200G). T.bears a Hurr. name (J.-R. Kupper, Fs. L. DeMeyer 266) and is attested in three textsfrom the years of Zimrı̄-Lı̂m*. One letter(TH 72−G5) was found in room G55 ofMari’s palace still with its envelope intact(therefore probably never sent, Birot G973,TITIUTTI − TIWAT 678f.), with a seal of Zimrı̄-Lı̂m, stating hisfiliation from H̊adni-Addu. The letter(Birot G989) has been interpreted in twoways. Following the first interpretation,this is one of several letters Zimrı̄-Lı̂msends to the kings of Idamaraz orderingthem to leave their cities. They will be re-placed by “legitimate” rulers, coming fromfamilies that had been ousted during Šam-šı̄-Adad* I reign (Birot G989, 23; Heimpel2003, 42f.). The second interpretation seesthe new king of Mari offering to the kingsof Idamaraz to keep their rule, after havingexchanged an oath with him (J. Sasson,NABU G989/GG6; D. Charpin, FM 5, G83).J.-M. Durand (LAPO G6, 387) dates the let-ter to the first year of Zimrı̄-Lı̂m’s reign.In one administrative text (ARM 22,300), dated to the year in which Zimrı̄-Lı̂mtook Kah̊at (ZL 2), T. is defined as the“man of Mardaman” (LÚ Mar-da-ma-anki)and delivers one pair of boots and two tex-tile bands of h̊ašmānum colour. In an un-publ. letter (A. 434) T. is said to be king ofthe city of Mardaman and to keep relationswith the king of H̊abūrātum*, Nanibša-wuri (G.
