The purpose of this thesis was to examine how to transfer a strategic capability into practice by updating the leadership development plan with participatory methods. This study is a small-scale study concentrated on the subject organizations director and manager population.
The research focuses on topics around capabilities, leadership development, practical strategic planning approaches and participatory methods.
The research used action research as the methodology and qualitative research as the primary data collection method. The data were gathered through observation, group discussion and written sources. The data collected in the research was confidential in nature, and for that reason, it was not published in this re-search.
The objective of this study was to co-create an updated leadership development plan together with the director and manager population of the subject organization.
As a conclusion of this research, can be claimed that through participatory methods the creation of updated leadership development plan was successfully created in collaboration and first steps of transferring a strategic capability in practice was taken.
Recommendations for further research could include assessing the impact and efficiency of updated leadership development plan in practice, this would offer a continuum for action research cycle
