This article reflects on the research about women in the France of the Ancien Régimethrough a look at feminine labor, above all in the dressmaking and textile sectors. Currentmethodological concerns, the problems regarding sources, and the specific topics and objectivessurrounding women's labor in French and European historiography are the focus of the study.Finally, in order to explore further in the historic analysis of this area, some new methodologicallines are suggested, based on the studies published to date.Se realiza en este artículo un balance de las investigaciones sobre las mujeres en la Franciadel Antiguo Régimen a través del trabajo femenino, sobre todo en oficios relacionados con elsector textil y del vestido. Las actuales preocupaciones metodológicas, la problemática de lasfuentes y los objetivos y temáticas específicas sobre el trabajo femenino, en la historiografíafrancesa y europea, son el centro del mismo. Igualmente, a partir de la reflexión sobre losestudios hasta ahora realizados, se trazan algunas nuevas líneas metodológicas para profundizaren estos análisis históricos
