Grand Haven March 7/65 Dear Sir There is one thing I forgot to mention in my letter of Yesturday[sic] Mr Grey says, "a Mortgage" injunction cannot reach property already removed from the property land mortgaged" So that whatever timber Albertas[sic] removes from the wood land before the time of Serving an injunction, is safe from Messrs Ball & Mc Kees injunction should they procure one It seems to me that the safest course to pursue with the Harbor board to insure full recompense for our time labour & advances would be to get them to Sign the contract & the in the course of a week or so [page 2] let them discover that they are not authorized by the State legislature, to sell _when they will be glad to re----erate[?] us for putting a stop to trespasses committed on their lands_ This is not a straight forward way of doing business but sometimes it is necessary to resort to a little Strategy to insure justice However the matter is all in Your hands 8c I have no doubt You will come out all right- You will surely get back the 300 $ for that they cannot keep Please let me hear from You as soon as You have a meeting with the Board To Respectfully Yours Rev A C Van Raalte R.
