Capstone Design and Manufacturing Experience: Fall 2006There are currently several benchmarks for delivering oil-in-water as well as oil-in-air MWFs through the tool and have been found to increase machining efficiency while lowering costs and overall environmental impact. It is for this reason that our team has designed a system to incorporate scCO2 into a through-tool lubrication delivery system. Our specific design focuses on drilling applications involving softer materials where chip removal can become an issue.
