Comparison of the hockey reporter's routine in the broadcasting of Czech professional hockey league in seasons 1993/94 and 2018/19

Abstract

This bachelor thesis will be analysing the routine of hockey sports reporters from Czech television (Česká televize) in the broadcasting of the Czech professional hockey league in seasons 1993/94 and 2018/19. The theoretical part focuses on the history of sports broadcasting and hockey broadcasting on Czechoslovak and Czech television screens. Additionally, another focus of the theoretical part is the work and practice of sports reporters. The practical part analyses three hockey games selected from different seasons of the Czech professional hockey league using semiotic analysis and in-depth semi-structured interviews. The work aims to capture the change in the practice of reporters at hockey games in the selected time period and recognize the change in the process of preparation for their work in the broadcasting of hockey games
