Abstract
Resumo: A poesia de Caio Valério Catulo (c. 84—54? a.C.), por ter comocentro a temática amorosa, a vida do adultério, a amizade e a própria poesia,é um ponto chave para tentarmos pensar as complexas relações afetivas queatravessam o universo romano no fim da República. Para além disso, busconeste artigo refletir como esse borrão afetivo é também uma forma de tornar apoética um lugar de constante enfrentamento político.Abstract: The poetry of Caius Valerius Catullus (c. 84-54 BC), because of itsthematic emphasis on love, on a life of adultery, on friendship and on poetryitself, is a key point to think about the complex affective relations that crossthe Roman universe at the end of the Republic. In addition, in this article I tryto reflect on how this affective blur is also a way of making poetics become aplace of constant political confrontation.Keywords: Roman poetry; Catullus; Politics of affection
