De los aficionados a los «profesionales» de la agricultura: España, 1793-1940

Abstract

Between the end of the eighteenth century and the 1850s, three new professions came into existence in Spain: veterinarians, forestry engineers, and agricultural engineers. These three professions were defined by the State, on the basis of very different models (civil servants, liberal professionals, and free technicians), which were to have important consequences for the evolution of the three types of technicians related to agriculture. This article sums up the changes and the relationship of these groups among themselves and with society, especially with rural society, between their creation and the Spanish Civil War.Collell, Josep "Símbolo", jarrón, alto: 23 cm Entre finales del siglo XVIII y mediados del siglo XIX, se desarrollaron en España tres nuevas profesiones: las de veterinarios, ingenieros de montes e ingenieros agrónomos. Estas tres profesiones fueron definidas desde el Estado sobre la base de modelos muy diferentes (funcionarios, profesionales liberales y técnicos libres), que tendrían importantes consecuencias sobre la evolución de los tres tipo de técnicos creados para la agricultura. Este texto resume los cambios y las relaciones de estos grupos entre sí y con la sociedad, en especial con la rural, entre su fundación y la Guerra Civil española.&nbsp
