The levels of similarity and duplication between the articles contravened the policies of ethical publication as defined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the Committee on Publication Ethics.3,4 For the reasons stated herein, the article by Madhavanprabhakaran et al. in Nurse Education in Practice has now been retracted.2 The article by Madhavanprabhakaran et al. will not be retracted from SQUMJ.1 The authors have agreed to the publication of this notice. The corresponding author takes sole responsibility for the duplicate publication and would like to apologise to the readers, reviewers and editors of Nurse Education in Practice and SQUMJ.
