Abstract
O arranjo espacial e o nível de proteção auferido pelas áreas de preservação permanente, definidas pelo Código Florestal, são apresentados para três bacias hidrográficas estrategicamente selecionadas em quatro de nossos biomas: Amazônia, Pantanal, Cerrado e Mata Atlântica. O objetivo principal é analisar o mito de que a legislação vigente dá o mesmo tratamento a situações geograficamente díspares, sendo este um dos principais argumentos para a revisão do Código Florestal. AbstractThe spatial organization and the extent of the environmental protection as well, originated from delineating the permanent preservation areas as set by the Brazilian Forest Code, are analyzed for key watersheds that span over four of the Brazilian biomes: Amazônia, Pantanal, Cerrado and Mata Atlântica. The main objective of this study is to analyze the myth the Brazilian legislation treats equally different situations, a key point for fostering the review of the ongoing Forest Code
