This study aims toidentify the taxa belonging to the genus Euastrum present in three Environmental Protection Areas (EPAs) of the coastalplain of the northern Bahia State (Litoral Norte, Lagoas de Guarajuba and Rio Capivara), contributing to the knowledge ofthe biodiversity of the State and to the geographic distribution of taxa. The analyzed material came from 116 samplingunits randomly collected in three EPAs using 20 μm size plankton net and were fixed immediately in Transeau solution.Qualitative analysis and illustrations were conducted with the aid of an optical microscope with digital camera attached.Twenty-three taxa were identified; 17 of them are additions to the desmidioflora of Bahia. Based on this data, the numberof taxa recorded for the State raised to 35. Descriptions, illustrations and comparisons with related taxa are presented.Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar os táxons do gênero Euastrum presentes em três Áreas de ProteçãoAmbiental da planície litorânea do norte da Bahia (Litoral Norte, Lagoas de Guarajuba e Rio Capivara), contribuindo parao conhecimento da biodiversidade do Estado e ampliando o conhecimento sobre a distribuição dos táxons. O materialanalisado provém de 116 unidades amostrais coletadas ao acaso nas três APAs. As amostras foram obtidas através de redede plâncton com 20 μm de abertura de malha e imediatamente fixadas em solução de Transeau. As análises qualitativas eilustrações foram obtidas utilizando microscópio óptico binocular com máquina fotográfica digital acoplada. Foramidentificados 23 táxons; dos quais, 17 são adições à desmidioflora da Bahia. A partir destes dados, o número de táxonsinventariados para o Estado aumentou para 35.
