Abstract

Rather than focusing on one of its many manifestations, this article addresses violence as an articulated phenomenon. The author analyzes the case of a prison for women, drawn from two central questions: Is there, in fact, a link that connects, conditions and feeds back the different, and apparently independent, manifestations of violence? And, how do these different forms of violence articulate? The analysis will focus on the life stories of three women
