Abstract
This paper investigates the academic production on financing Youth and Adult Education (EJA) from the annals of the national scientific meetings of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Education and scientific articles available in Scielo virtual library, in the period between 2000 and 2018. The aim is to find out how discussions on EJA financing are understood in academic production. This is a documentary study, with an analysis based on the full reading of the selected papers. The results indicate the predominance of investigations on specific programs or policies and the neglect of the State in adequate financing; the transfer of public funds to the EJA modality remained negligible throughout the period. It is concluded that, in order to guarantee the constitutional right to education, it is necessary to expand investments in the area, maintain resistance and not accept setbacks in the educational field.Este trabalho investiga a produção acadêmica sobre financiamento da modalidade Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) a partir de anais das reuniões científicas nacionais da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação (Anped) e artigos científicos disponíveis na biblioteca virtual Scielo, no período entre 2000 e 2018. O objetivo é averiguar como as discussões sobre financiamento da EJA são compreendidas na produção acadêmica. Trata-se de estudo documental, com análise a partir da leitura integral dos trabalhos selecionados. Os resultados indicam a predominância de investigações sobre programas ou políticas específicas e negligenciamento do Estado no adequado financiamento; os repasses de verbas públicas para a modalidade EJA permaneceram ínfimos ao longo do período. Conclui-se que, para a garantia do direito constitucional à educação, necessita-se da ampliação nos investimentos na área, manter a resistência e não aceitar retrocessos no campo educacional
