Operationalizing Intergenerational Ambivalences: From Calculation to Classification of Ambivalence

Abstract

In everyday life, parents and adult children often feel torn in their relationship. The point of departure for a research project is the hypothesis that intergenerational relations require dealing with ambivalences. A series of four working papers informs about the present state of the project. In working paper no. 34.1 the theoretical background of the study and the research design are portrayed. Papers no. 34.2 and no. 34.3 report on first findings. Working paper no. 34.4 contains the questionnaire in German and in English as well as the frequencies
