In everyday life, parents and adult children often feel torn in their relationship. The point of departure for a research project is the hypothesis that intergenerational relations require dealing with ambivalences. A series of four working papers informs about the present state of the project. In working paper no. 34.1 the theoretical background of the study and the research design are portrayed.
