Teorias sobre desregulação e desinstitucionalização do religioso na sociedade contemporânea têm subestimado o estudo das organizações de movimentos religiosos. Criticando essa tendência, o presente artigo chama atenção para a importância das organizações religiosas. Discute como a organização mais ampla da Igreja Católica tem afetado a Renovação Carismática Católica (RCC) levando-a a adotar um modelo organizacional de movimento religioso integrado internacionalmente, mas com autonomia e paralelismo em relação à comunidade e ao clero locais. Com esse formato organizacional a RCC floresceu em número de fiéis, mas teve que redefinir aspectos de seu projeto inicial. A Igreja Católica possui dispositivos organizacionais que permitem o crescimento de movimentos e comunidades com tal autonomia que se constituem em quase-igrejas dentro da Igreja. Esses dispositivos têm evitado rupturas e defecções. O artigo também destaca que a RCC reproduz a mesma dinâmica da Igreja mais abrangente para o seu interior. Dentro da RCC se desenvolvem comunidades que são relativamente autônomas quanto a estilos de vida, regras de comportamento e discursos religiosos. Criticizing this tendency, the present article calls attention to the importance of religious organization. It focus on how the broad Catholic Church's organization has affected the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) leading it to the adoption of an internationally integrated organization that is relatively autonomous in relation to the local catholic community and clergy. Adopting this format, the CCR flourished in faithful numbers, but it had to redefine its original proposal. The Catholic Church possesses organizational devices that allow the growth of movements and communities with such a degree of autonomy that they constitute quasi-churches inside the Church. These devices have helped the Church avoiding ruptures and defections. This article also stresses that the CCR reproduces the same dynamics of the broader Church to its interior. Within the CCR communities have developed with relative autonomy regarding their life styles, behavior rules, and religious discourses.
