Grading: The following grades can be earned by achieving the minimum percentages listed:    A---90%   B---80%   C---70%   D---60%  The instructors reserve the right to lower the curve.  Exams will emphasize lectures and handouts and may include additional information from assigned readings in the text.  Additional information may be posted by the instructors on Blackboard (http://umonline.umt.edu). Students are responsible for all material.  Evaluations: Students will evaluate the instructors online using Blackboard.  The evaluations will be available to students beginning after the instructors’ last class on a topic and ending one week after the test covering the material. Students will receive one point of extra credit for each evaluation they fill out during the appropriate time.   Exams:  Six tests         360 points    Final exam--- Test from last material        80 points            Comprehensive final       110 points             550  points  Tests may consist of any combination of multiple choice, matching, true/false, fill in the blank, or short essay questions.  Tests will be given during the Friday test time (1-2:00 pm, SB117).     Test Schedule:  Test 1: Sept. 12 (Putnam 16 pts; Calderón 24 pts, Coffin 40 pts)  2 Test 2: Sept. 16 (Lurie 32 pts) Test 3: Oct. 10 (Lurie 80 pts) Test 4: Oct. 24 (Jackson 40 pts) Test 5: Nov. 7 (Coffin 80 pts) Test 6: Nov. 21 (Smith 48 points) Final Exam: Wed. Dec. 10, 8-10 am (Test 7: Smith 48 pts, Pershouse 32 pts on new material; Comprehensive final: Putnam 4 pts, Calderón 6 points, Coffin 30 points, Lurie 28 points, Jackson 10 pts, Smith 24 pts, Pershouse 8 pts on comprehensive final) Exam Policy: No tests will be given early. Only under extraordinary circumstances will an excused absence from a test be permitted. When such an exception is granted, a makeup test that can be either in written or oral format must be taken within one week of the original test date. Students have one week from the time the test is returned to resolve any grading questions. Such requests must be written, attached to the original test and submitted to the course director.
