Abstract

The article analyzes the educational process expressed in letters from women inmates and former inmates who participated between 2004 and 2007, of social reintegration program in a women’s prison in Ribeirao Preto, in Sao Paulo state. As the letters were directed to the program coordinators, representatives of the prison system, the goal is to analyze, by means of reports, as it was done by the state, the social control of the educational process in prison to ensure the movement of certain knowledge to the detriment of others, like the inmates perceive this process, or not recognizing the social control pattern, and how they assimilated and reproduced or resisted to it
