Classification, epidemiology and impact of chronic daily headaches

Abstract

Chronic, daily headaches are divided according to Lipton and Silberstein into 4 subtipes: chronic migraine, chronic tension-type headache, new daily persisten headache, and hemicrania continua. The all can present with and without acute medication overuse. It is estimated 3-4% of the general populations is affected by chronic daily headaches. The classification, epidemiology and impact of its subtipes are discussed in this article
