La nueva consideración que se le ha dado a la cultura como un sistema complejo, social
y global ha dado lugar a la creación del perfil profesional del gestor cultural. Sin
embargo, definir en qué consiste su trabajo no es una tarea fácil. En este artículo se
exponen las capacidades y diferentes especialidades de esta labor caracterizando a la
gestión cultural como una profesión unitaria en sí misma, aunque con diversas ramas,
por su capacidad para integrar todos los elementos vinculados al hecho cultural. El
concepto de gestión cultural se define así como una “ciencia” que agrupa a todos estos
perfiles y, además, crea una familia nueva: la de la persona que trabaja de manera
genérica (hasta ahora era más especializada) en un amplio sector al que se termina
denominando cultural.Considering the new point of view that has been given to culture as a complex, global
and social system the cultural manager profession has come to account. Nevertheless, to
define what that job is exactly about is not easy. In this article we expose the capacities
and different specialities that this job offers characterizing cultural management as a
unitary profession, although it has several branches, because of its capacity to integrate
all the elements linked to the cultural fact. The concept of cultural management concept
is defined as a science that is able to unify profiles and creates a new family at the same
time: that of the person that work more in general terms(up to now it was more specific)
in this wide sector that in the end we call culture
