The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a reference environment when it comes to critical care, and requires specialized and continuous knowledge. The human issue of care is one of the greatest difficulties that must be included within the ICU. Thus, the objective of this work is, based on recent scientific literature, to identify the benefits that the health manager can provide to the critical patient through humanization within an Invasive Therapy Unit (ICU). Methodology: consists of an integrative review of the literature of scientific articles. The Scientific Electronic Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LiLACS) databases and the Bibliographic Database Specialized in the Brazilian Nursing Area (BDEnf) were consulted. Result: 9 scientific articles were included, which were grouped into three discussion categories: Actions that characterize humanization; Factors that interfere in the humanization of care within the Intensive Care Unit; and Management and its reflection on humanization. Conclusion: It is necessary to have a more applied, understandable management, close to the team, and to enable and monitor more closely its collaborator, enabling actions that reflect in the improvement of the team and consequently in the care assistance.A Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) é um ambiente de referência quando se trata de cuidados críticos, e exige um conhecimento especializado e contínuo. A questão humana do cuidado é uma das maiores dificuldades que se tem de incluir dentro da UTI. Com isso, o objetivo deste trabalho é, com base na literatura científica recente, identificar os benefícios que o gestor em saúde pode proporcionar ao paciente crítico por meio da humanização dentro de uma Unidade de Terapia Invasiva (UTI). Metodologia: consiste em uma revisão integrativa da literatura de artigos científicos. Foram consultadas as bases de dados/bibliotecas virtuais Scientific Eletronic Library Online (Scielo), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LiLACS) e Base de Dados Bibliográficos Especializada na Área de Enfermagem do Brasil (BDEnf). Resultado: Foram inclusos 9 artigos científicos que foram agrupados em três categorias de discussão: Ações que caracterizam humanização; Fatores que interferem na humanização do atendimento dentro da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva; e A gestão e seu reflexo na humanização. Conclusão: Necessita-se que se tenha uma gestão mais aplicada, compreensível, próxima da equipe, e que capacite e acompanhe mais de perto o seu colaborador, viabilizando ações que reflitam na melhora da equipe e consequentemente na assistência do cuidado
